Direct Lending Roundtable 2018

Thursday 2 August 2018
Commences Thursday morning and concludes later that afternoon

Melbourne, VIC

CIE’s Direct Lending Roundtable addresses the evolution of the opportunity set in direct lending, across global private debt markets, in response to continued focus of Australian institutional investors on the asset class.

The Direct Lending Roundtable gives participants a unique opportunity to gain insights into private debt investing and critically assess new investment opportunities and managers, in a peer group setting.

This is a focused, one day event where the agenda has been structured in close consultation with the industry with the aim of meeting the specific needs of Australian institutional investors conducting due diligence and ongoing research into establishing or expanding their private debt program.

Limited to 25 select delegates, this is a highly interactive and intimate event that offers a unique opportunity for participants to share information, gain insights, benchmark their existing portfolio design and incumbent managers and be exposed to world-class experts, focusing on direct lending and private debt investment opportunities.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Assessing demands/supply in private debt markets and the growing stock of ‘dry powder’ chasing deals
  • The changing composition of direct lending funds – to what extent have risk/return characteristics changed?
  • Comparing opportunities across Europe & the US
  • Exploring alternatives to corporate loans
  • Overcoming challenges in finding appropriate partners & structuring mandates
